Greasy U Street goo blamed for accidents →

The phrase, “D.C. stinks,” took on a new meaning Wednesday as drivers slipped and slid across a greasy substance that smelled like vomit along U Street.
Police had to close eastbound U Street in Northwest between 16th and 9th Streets after pedestrians and cyclists fell on the used kitchen grease that apparently leaked from a truck.
